Exit Button

Post by FrizzleFried » Sun Feb 17, 2019 4:07 am

OK... I did try searching but the forum says that the word "exit" is too common and won't let me search for it.

In any case, one of my cabinets keeps losing the HOLD BUTTON DOWN TO EXIT capability. I've not discovered exactly why, but randomly I'll be in a game and holding the button down won't exit.

I have a dedicated EXIT button I can use... though I am not entirely sure how I configure that bad boy.

What file do I need to go in to to configure it?

Thanks!

The cab that intermittently won't exit may have a slightly dodgy micro switch or something causing the issue.

If you can't make your dedicated exit button work using the hotkeys system there may be some options other than program the button in each emulator. If you dedicated exit button is on any of the JAMMA/ RPi GPIO inputs you could make a custom DTBO overlay that makes that input into 'Esc' (this is a bit tricky but would save you having to set the input up beyond that).

There is also a way to program an exit button on a emulator to emulator basis via Attract-Mode (will only work for stuff launched through Attract-Mode though), I'm not sure if this method could cause issues with high scores saving etc. as Attract-Mode will be shutting down the emulators.
